Who we are
Nodally is built and published by Moilin Cyf on the Tywys event-guide platform. Moilin Cyf is the data controller for anything the app processes and is the developer named on the app's Google Play and Apple App Store listings. Each event guide inside the app is written by that event's organisers, who supply the content but receive no personal data from the app.
What we don't do
There is no sign-up and no login. We don't ask for your name, email address or phone number, and we have no way to tell one attendee from another. There is no advertising, no analytics product, and no third-party tracking of any kind in the app.
The camera
Nodally asks for camera access so it can read the QR code at your
event. The camera is used only while the scanner is open, and
only to look for a web address of the form
nodally.app/join/CODE. Nothing is recorded, stored or
sent anywhere — no photos, no video, no frames. You can skip the
scanner entirely and type the event code instead, and the app
works the same way.
What stays on your phone
The app stores a few things locally so it can pick up where you left off. None of it leaves your device, and all of it goes when you uninstall the app:
- the code of the event you're currently in
- the events you've opened before, so you can return to them
- the sessions you've saved to My Schedule
- your language choice, Cymraeg or English
- a cached copy of the event guide, so it still works with poor signal
Event content
Event guides are published by the organisers of each event and hosted on Google Firebase. When the app loads a guide it makes an ordinary web request, and as with any web request the server sees your device's IP address and basic connection information. That data is handled by Google as our hosting provider; we don't use it to build any profile of you, and it isn't linked to anything else. Nothing is sent from your phone to the event organisers — they can't see who has opened their guide, or which sessions you've saved.
App updates
The app checks for updates when it starts. That check goes to Expo's update service and to the app store, and tells them only which version you're running.
Children
Nodally is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes we'll update this page and the date below. Any change that affected what the app collects would come with an app update, not a quiet edit here.
